Welcome Reception
The Sensors Summer School Welcome Reception will be held on Monday, July 11th. Dinner at 6:00 pm, Jazz Concert from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. We will enjoy an evening of food and drink, music entertainment with Y-Jazz Qaurtet Live Band, along with the Live Demonstrations and Exhibits in the Hall of BC. It is a perfect time to re-connect with the Sensors community!
Bex Salt Mines: Guided Tour and Dinner
The guided tour and dinner to the Bex Salt Mines will depart from Lausanne by bus at 14:30 and return at 22:00. We leave Ecublens at 14:30 to arrive at Bex at 15:30. The Swiss dinner will take place at the Taverne du Dessaloir, in the heart of the Salt Mines.
The Bex Salt Mines is a vast underground labyrinth, several kilometers of which are open to the public. A unique attraction in Switzerland! Take a ride on the miners’ train and discover the most spectacular and the most characteristic elements of the various mining techniques used since the first gallery was first dug out in 1684, right up to the present day.
For over five hundred years, the Sel des Alpes has been extracted from the mountainous rock in the Bex Salt Mines, by dissolving in the glacial spring water then by evaporating. The precious crystals preserve all their purity and mineral wealth.
The Bex Salt Mines are now a vast underground labyrinth, several kilometers of which are open to visitors. On this journey of discovery you will see the most spectacular and the most characteristic elements of the various excavation techniques used from when the first gallery was dug out in 1684, right up to modern times. Summer School Farewell Party
Enjoy a farewell party at the Brew Pub, Les Brasseurs Lausanne, featuring a local Flammküche menu. The farewell party will take place on July 15 from 7:00-10:00 pm.
